とみやまみ「広島遠いなあ、鶴見町どこ 」を開催いたします。このほどオープンする新スペース「タメンタイギャラリー 鶴見町ラボ」のこけら落とし企画となります。

とみやまみは、武蔵野美術大学造形学部映像学科を卒業後、地図調製会社での勤務を経て、現在は東京都を拠点にフリーで活動するアーティストです。

本企画では、広島への複数回のリサーチのなかで見聞きした事物について、ドローイングと地図を表現媒体として展示を行います。

広島と東京間の距離は約800km。ほとんど初めての町である広島に移動し、歩きまわり、眺望することを中心としたそのリサーチの過程は、富谷にとって「広島に個人的な縁を作っていくこと」だったといいます。

現在地から目的地へと最短距離で移動する経路から外れてみると、膠着した人と場所の関係がほぐされる─そんな意味で、距離と時間のもつ意味を再考する契機となることを願っています。

一部の作品はプリントし販売いたします。

イベント「こたつで地図の話をしよう」

会期中、作家が在廊している時間帯で、会場内のこたつで地図談義を行います。

略歴

1992年東京生まれ

Tomiya Mami “Hiroshima far away, Tsurumi-cho where” will be held. This exhibition is the opening event of the new space, “TAMENTAI GALLERY Tsurumi-cho Lab.”

Mami Tomiya graduated from the Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences, Musashino Art University. After working for a map production company, she is now a freelance artist based in Tokyo.

In this project, she will exhibit drawings and maps of things she saw and heard during her multiple research trips to Hiroshima as her medium of expression.

The distance between Hiroshima and Tokyo is approximately 800 km. The research process, which centered on moving to, walking around, and viewing the city for the first time, made a personal connection to Hiroshima for her.

One can unravel the stalemate between people and places by deviating from the shortest possible route from one’s current location to one’s destination. In this sense, we hope this exhibition will allow us to reconsider the meaning of distance and time.

Some of the works will be printed and sold.

Event “Let’s Talk about Maps at Kotatsu”

When the artist is in the gallery during the exhibition period, a map discussion will be held at a kotatsu in the venue.
