平井亨季・吉田真也「歩行の筆跡（ディスクール）」

Hirai Koki and Yoshida Shinya will hold a two-person exhibition, "Discourse of Walking," at TAMENTAI Gallery Turumi-Cho Lab, starting Friday, July 29, 2022.

This exhibition is by Hirai Koki and Yoshida Shinya on the theme of walking. The Ota River carried earth and sands and formed a delta of Hiroshima. The city has changed its appearance from a castle town to a military town to a city of peace. This project aims to reveal the diversity of the city's geography through walking. Hirai and Yoshida did their research in Hiroshima by each, and they will present new work.

Hirai Koki will present a video installation that reinterprets the formation of delta landforms as the process of "an island becoming a mountain." Besides, Yoshida Shinya will exhibit a work that looks at Hiroshima from multiple perspectives, juxtaposing the film "Hiroshima Mon Amour" and Walter Benjamin's "Arcades Project."

During the exhibition, a screening of Yoshida Shinya's documentary "On the Shore" (2018) and a dialogue event are also planned (details to be announced soon).

平井亨季と吉田真也による2人展「歩行の筆跡（ディスクール）」をタメンタイギャラリー鶴見町ラボにて2022年7月29日（金）から開催します。

本展は、平井亨季と吉田真也による、「歩くこと」を主題とした展示企画です。太田川が上流から運んだ土砂によって形成されたデルタ地形の上に成り立つ広島は、街の容貌を城下町、軍都、平和都市と移り変えてきました。本企画は、その地誌の多様性を「歩くこと」によってあらわにしようとするもの。広島での取材とテキストの読み込みをふまえた新作を発表します。

平井亨季は、デルタ地形の形成を「島が山になる」プロセスと読み替え、映像インスタレーションを発表します。吉田真也は、映画「ヒロシマ・モナムール」（邦題：「二十四時間の情事」）とヴァルター・ベンヤミンの「パサージュ論」を重ね合わせ、複層的に広島を眼差す作品を展示します。

会期中には、吉田真也のドキュメンタリー作品「渚にて」（2018）の上映会や、対談イベントの企画も予定しています（下記イベント情報：2022年7月22日追記）。

※追記：8月6日（土）17:30-18:30に開催する上映会中は事前の申込み者のみ入場できます。また上映会前後の時間は会場準備を行うため、一部鑑賞しづらい箇所があります。
